Food Safety Systems (HACCP & Food Safety Plans)

Food Safety Systems (HACCP & Food Safety Plans)

Build a food safety system that protects your product, your brand, and the people who trust it.

A strong HACCP plan is the foundation of an effective food safety program. Based on Codex Alimentarius principles, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is a preventive approach that identifies potential hazards and establishes controls at critical points in your production process.

We take that foundation further by helping you build a complete, facility-specific Food Safety Plan — not a generic checklist, but a dynamic document designed around your actual products and processes. In the U.S., and if you export there, Food Safety Plans must be prepared or overseen by a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI). A complete plan includes:

  • Written hazard analysis
  • Preventive controls (process, allergen, sanitation, and supply chain)
  • Monitoring, corrective actions, verification, and record keeping procedures
  • Recall plan for products where hazards requiring preventive controls are identified

Whether you need a HACCP plan from the ground up or a full Food Safety Plan built on top of it, we work with you to create or refine a system that meets regulatory and certification requirements — and guides your team in consistently producing safe, high-quality food.

GAP Assessments

GAP Assessments

Identify opportunities, not just gaps – for stronger food safety outcomes.

We conduct in-depth assessments of your existing food safety and quality systems to identify gaps against regulatory requirements or certification standards (e.g., BRCGS, SQF, FSSC 22000, or CFIA regulations). Our evaluation includes reviewing your documentation, observing on-site practices, and assessing how well your team understands your programs.

Why it matters?

A GAP Assessment is a crucial first step if you’re:

  • Preparing for a third-party audit or certification
  • Updating your HACCP plan or transitioning to a new standard
  • Experiencing frequent non-conformances or quality issues
  • Unsure whether your current programs meet evolving regulatory expectations

We provide you with a clear, prioritized action plan — so you can confidently move toward compliance or certification, backed by expert insights.

Regulatory Compliance (Canada & U.S.)

Regulatory Compliance (Canada & U.S.)

Confidently navigate the regulatory landscape, wherever you do business.

Meeting regulatory requirements – under Canada’s Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) or the U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) – is essential to operating and growing in either market. We help you build the systems, prepare the documentation, and adopt the practices needed to comply – so you can access these markets with confidence and reduce the risk of delays, refusals, or costly rework.

Canada – CFIA / SFCR

  • Licensing guidance and application assistance
  • Development of Preventive Control Plans (PCPs) and supporting programs
  • Traceability and recall system design
  • Labelling review for regulatory accuracy
  • Pre-inspection and audit readiness assessments

United States – FDA, USDA, and FSVP

Most food products fall under FDA regulation via FSMA; meat, poultry, and egg products are regulated separately under USDA. If you’re importing food into the U.S., you may also need a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) in place. We support compliance across all three, including:

  • Guidance on facility requirements and inspection readiness
  • Labelling review and approval assistance
  • Development of HACCP-based systems for FDA- or USDA-regulated products
  • Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) support for importers
  • Documentation and recordkeeping support
  • Pre-audit assessments and corrective action planning

Whether you’re entering a new market for the first time or maintaining existing approvals, we ensure your systems meet the applicable requirements – supporting smooth inspections and maintaining consumer trust.
